National Sports Week

Well done to everyone for participating in all of the different activities that were on offer during National Sports Week. You all really got into the spirit of the week and hopefully learnt something new about the Olympics and the Olympic Values. Can you remember what they are?

Have a peek at some pics that were taken during the week.

Last night, the year 6 girls’ football team made a great start to the football tournament they are participating in.

The girls played five matches in total and won three of the matches. As always, the girls were a credit to school!

We definately have a strong team girls, let’s keep it up for the next leg of the tournament!

2012 Olympic Competition

It might seem a while away yet but the 2012 Olympics will soon be here and Wenlock and Mandeville, the official London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic mascots, are on an adventure around the UK, meeting lots of people and making new friends before reaching London in 2012.

Through ‘Get Set’ our school can be a part of the story and win some fantastic prizes too!

‘Get Set’ are challenging children and young people across the UK to design a customised version of Wenlock and/or Mandeville which represents their area and community.

If you are interested in creating your own mascot then visit the link below:

Yr 5/6 Netball Final

A huge well done to the girls’ netball team who came joint 1st (3rd positon due to goal difference) when they competed in a netball final against 8 other teams.

The talent the girls displayed was amazing and as a result of our finishing position they have been selected to play in the City Wide finals in a few weeks.

Well done girls!

Wetton Cup Final

Thursday 13th May saw the Year 6 Boys football team in the final of the Wetton Cup Trophy. The boys were up against local school St.Johns and we were fortunate enough to play on a superb pitch at Wright Robinson Sports Centre. It was a glorious evening for football and Ro-Shaun put us in to a one nil lead. We had to wait  sometime but eventually the second goal came in the second half again through a Ro-Shaun. The victory was finally sealed when Joe Wood burst through the defense and calmly slotted in our third. Good job boys, next up is a 7-a-side competition at St.Bedes on May 27th….FINGERS CROSSED!

Yr 5/6 Netball Tournament

Over the last few weeks two Yr 5/6 netball teams from Chorlton Park  have been involved in a tournament at the Amechi centre. 16 teams participated in the annual tournament and one of our teams qualified to go through to the finals.

All the girls were a credit to the school as always and showed great team spirit.

Wish us look for the finals! (the date will be confirmed at a later stage)
